Falling asleep while driving is never a good thing. It is even less good when you are driving an 80,000 lb. rig. Unfortunately, many drivers suffer from sleep deprivation leading to fatigue and putting them at risk for falling asleep at the wheel.
The trucking lifestyle can make breakfast a challenge when you are looking to eat somewhat healthy. There are so many unhealthy options at every truck stop, rest area, and other places you may stop along your route. One of the downfalls in society as a whole is that those unhealthy food options are very cheap in cost and easily accessible.
As a driver, you spend countless hours sitting. This can be hard on the body. So, it is important to drink water while you’re driving. While most think caffeine is the answer to keeping them alert, water is actually a natural source of energy. You don’t quite have to take in eight glasses of water but, increasing your water intake will certainly be beneficial.
It is no secret that being a long haul truck driver is hard on your body. The fact that the job requires you to sit, strapped to your seat for hours on end is just the beginning. Add in the stresses and pressures of meeting deadlines and the fact that the most abundant and affordable foods available on the go tend to be the least healthy options it's easy to see how drivers are highly susceptible to obesity and other heath issues.
There have been various articles written about road rage. Some articles give results of surveys. Some of them will give suggestions on how to keep someone else, or yourself, from getting enraged. What I would like to talk about is why we have road rage.
