So far the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) December 18th implementation date has held fast. Weathering the storm of opposing legislation the official start of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate is now right around the corner with no signs of delay.
The FMCSA’s ELD mandate will require most interstate carriers to use ELDs instead of paper log books. For many, this could be a difficult, sudden transition to a new way of doing things. For others, it may just be another day in the truck.
Either way, if you don’t already use electronic logs in your truck you may have a lot of questions. Track Your Truck have asked many of those questions as well and have a few answers that may help guide you into this new era of ELDs.
