Getting Drivers Home

For most people, it’s a word that evokes a wave of happiness. There’s nothing quite as relaxing as sleeping in your own bed! But for many OTR drivers, home is a place they don’t see often enough.

At Nussbaum, we recognize this challenge. That’s why we make Home Time a top priority.

Don’t get us wrong: this job requires a lot of time away from family, but we promise to work our hardest to get drivers home as often as we can. It’s just one component of the company culture we have built to care for our employees and their families.

We have two distinct hiring areas with different home time expectations:

Primary Hiring Area

(Home Weekly)

Extended Hiring Area

(Home Twice Monthly)

Not sure which one is right for you?

A “People First” company

Nussbaum Transportation was named a 2015 Best Fleets to Drive For. In part, this recognition acknowledges the work we are doing here at Nussbaum to build a culture where people come first.

Home, sweet home

Part of putting people first is honoring their home time with family.

As a 70-year-old family-owned business, we know a thing or two about the importance of spending time with loved ones. That’s why we work with drivers to get them home weekly and for important milestones like anniversaries and births.

This emphasis on family and home time has helped Nussbaum achieve one of the best driver retention rates in the business.

A workplace where you are family

At Nussbaum, we’re building a place where people want to come to work; a company that places a high value on each employee, and their family.

We treat people the way we would want to be treated: fairly and honestly. Building our culture upon this “golden rule”, we find that our employees are both excited and proud to say, “I work at Nussbaum.”
