Happy Employee Ownership Month!
Last April, Brent Nussbaum announced that Nussbaum Transportation began transitioning to an employee-owned company. Now, as employee-owners, we’ve been tasked with carrying on the mission, values, heritage, and success that the Nussbaum family has established.
Becoming an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company is a long-term benefit for our employees and can have a significant influence on our retirement (with no personal financial investment!).

We have great power in influencing the future success of our company.
We make hundreds of decisions each day – some small, some big. Think about all those decisions multiplied by nearly 500 employees and added together over the course of a day, a month, and a year. The impact is like compound interest.
And the potential for a good return is enormous!
You Make the Difference
Check out this little phrase with a big meaning… “Own it.” We can impact Nussbaum individually by “owning it” in our daily duties. Here’s how:
- Take pride in your work, and serve our customers well
- Take care of your equipment, operate efficiently, and implement good driving habits
- Look for opportunities to grow, and take personal responsibility for making our company stronger
