Taking a Stand Against Human Traffcking

Taking a Stand Against Human Trafficking

Human trafficking sounds like a familiar plot line from a blockbuster action film. Unfortunately, the truth is that it is a real problem in our world today. In fact, it is likely happening right in your own state. Human trafficking has been reported in all 50 states. The number of victims in the United States is now estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands.

Truckers Against Trafficking(TAT) reports that human trafficking is a booming business. Second only to drug trafficking. Traffickers recruit out of our schools, online, in shopping malls, as well as the streets and other locations. A large percentage of the people trafficked are women and children. Many of them are used in the sex industry. They are prostituted to people on the street and in private homes. Even at legitimate businesses such as restaurants, truck stops and motels.

They need to be identified. They need to be rescued.

Stand Against Human Trafficking, - Be Someone's Hero
The Power of One

With a problem this big you might wonder how you can make a difference. As an OTR driver, you are invaluable in the fight against this terrible crime.

TAT puts it this way: As the eyes and ears of our nation’s highways, you are in a unique position to make a difference and close loopholes to traffickers who seek to exploit our transportation system for their personal gain.

How well do you understand Human Trafficking?

Truckers Against Trafficking provides training on how to recognize the problem and respond. Nobody expects you to jump out of your truck in tights and a cape and single-handedly take on the bad guy.

All you need to do is pick up your phone,

call 1-888-3737-888 and report what you know.

Nussbaum Transportation believes in TAT’s mission to equip drivers to become a force in the fight against human trafficking. We have committed to showing the TAT training video and providing wallet cards to each of our drivers during orientation.

Are you ready to join us and take a stand against human trafficking? Head over to the TAT website to take the training, and maybe you could be someone’s hero.
